LINE INTERFERENCE – ABSTRACT PAINTING ON WOOD

A STRINGENT CHROMATIC INVESTIGATION OF LINES AND COLORS

STRAIGHT LINES

This series of abstract paintings on wood is a rigorous exploration of chromatic relationships
through the precise arrangement of straight lines. Sometimes exclusively vertical, other times
intersecting both vertically and horizontally, these lines create a structured yet dynamic visual
rhythm. The composition focuses on the interaction of colors, emphasizing how they influence
and interfere with one another within a strictly ordered framework.

WOOD

The wood surface is revealed only in narrow, unpainted stripes, serving not as a textural
element but as an integral part of the composition’s negative space. These exposed areas
introduce a natural contrast, subtly disrupting the otherwise controlled sequences of color.
The deliberate application of paint, with sharp edges and carefully considered alignments,
enhances the sense of precision, reinforcing the investigation into optical effects, spatial tension,
and the vibrational energy of juxtaposed hues.

LINE – COLOR – SPACE

By eliminating expressive gestures in favor of a methodical approach, this work seeks to
distill abstraction down to its essential elements—line, color, and space. The result is a study in
interference, where the meeting points of chromatic fields and the interruptions of unpainted
wood define the visual experience.
