PUBLIC ART – VÄXJÖ SWEDEN 2019 – PREQUALIFICATION
TENDENCIES IN LIGHT
VÄXJÖ MUNICIPALITY AND TRAIN STATION
VÖFAB AND VÄXJÖ MUNICIPALITY
A dialogue between Växjö Municipality, its Train Station, Vöfab, and the Living Landscape.
I was honored to be one of five artists selected through an open call to develop a sketch proposal for this commission.
Though my proposal was not ultimately chosen, the process became a profound exploration of our shared
responsibility for biodiversity—a whisper from the past to the present.
CONCEPT / IDEA
A meditation on the fragile balance between humanity and nature, a call to awareness.
I envisioned symbolically returning Carl von Linné’s Herbarium, housed in the Linnean Society of London, back to Sweden.
This act of repatriation would reconnect Växjö’s citizens with their natural surroundings through workshops, where they would document
contemporary plant and animal life. These observations, merged with the historic botanical archive, would bridge centuries in a
luminous interplay of memory and renewal.
With permission from the Linnean Society of London, I planned to integrate their digital collection into my artistic process,
weaving past and present into three large-scale installations aligned with the building’s architectural axes
and its relationship to the city and nature.
Part I – A 100-meter ribbon of light and transparency, echoing time and movement.
Part II – A 27-meter vertical ascent, a beacon of reflection.
Part III – A 16-meter composition, grounding the dialogue in the earth.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Transparent and translucent laminated glass, metal, wood, LED and tube lighting. Digital manipulation,
laser engraving, and prints would animate the surfaces, while video monitors and an interactive
Instagram profile would extend the dialogue beyond physical space.
this proposal was not realized, the questions it raised remain urgent, and the vision still seeks a place to take root.

PREQUALIFICATION
In spring 2019 I was invited to do a sketch proposal for a public art project
for the new townhall and the train station.
I presented the sketch proposal- “Tendenser i lyset” a
site specific – contextual art installation – inviting for co-creation.
In Danish from page 3 in catalogue;
vil gøre i Växjö i Carl Von Linnés fodspor. Jeg vil med
udsmykningsprojektet Tendenser i lyset
– Invitere til fælles bevidsthed om Växjö som en grøn by
– Gå i dialog med arkitekturens og infrastrukturens hovedakser
– Møblere bygningen med abstraktioner af ”Tæppet”, ”Sofaen” og ”Lampen”.
